Features / Spec sheet, rev. Nov 2026

Everything Dustjacket does with a recording, in plain words.

Seven things, each one explained, shown on a real screen and tied to the way a content team already works. If a step needs your say-so, we tell you where.

Cap. 01 / Highlight detection

a ranked list of the best minutes, so you don’t scrub for them

Dustjacket listens to the whole recording and scores the moments where it lifts: a clear answer, a story with an ending, a number worth repeating. You see the list, play any of them, and keep or skip each one.

You get
Up to ten moments per hour of audio, each with a score from 0 to 100 and a timestamp.
Saves
The first pass through a two-hour webinar, which is where most of the afternoon goes.
Workflow
Upload, skim the list, tick the ones you like, then move on to clips.

Cap. 02 / Transcript trimming

cut the video by deleting words, and undo it if you’re unsure

Every recording gets a transcript with speakers and timestamps. Select a sentence, press delete, and that moment leaves the clip while the audio closes the gap. The original file is never touched.

You get
A searchable transcript, filler words flagged in one click, and unlimited undo.
Saves
Opening a timeline editor just to remove an “um”.
Workflow
Pick a moment, tidy the words, check the new length, then export.

Cap. 03 / Clips in four sizes

one moment, four frame sizes, captions already on

Choose the moments, tick the platforms, and Dustjacket renders each clip at the right shape for TikTok, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn and Instagram. Speakers stay inside the safe area and captions are sized for each frame.

You get
Three moments across four sizes is twelve finished files, rendered in the background.
Saves
Re-cropping and re-captioning the same clip four times.
Workflow
Select moments from the list, open Make clips, choose a caption style, render.

Cap. 04 / Written drafts

show notes, a blog post and a newsletter, ready to edit

Each recording comes with written drafts built from what people actually said in it, plus quote cards cut from the strongest lines. Nothing is invented: if it isn’t in the recording, it isn’t in the draft.

You get
Show notes, a blog post, a newsletter and quote cards per recording.
Saves
The blank page, which is the slowest part of any write-up.
Workflow
Open the draft, fix what you like, send it to the approver.

Cap. 05 / Brand kit and captions

set your colours and caption style once, and every clip uses them

Save your logo, colours, fonts and caption style as a brand kit. Every clip and quote card picks it up automatically, so a clip made on Friday afternoon still looks like yours.

You get
Brand colours, fonts, an intro and outro, and caption styles with the active word highlighted.
Saves
Fixing the font on the fortieth clip.
Workflow
Set it up once, then forget it. Change the kit and unpublished work updates.

Cap. 06 / Shared calendar

one calendar the whole team can read, and pull a post back from

Drag clips and posts onto a day, connect your social accounts, and everyone sees the week at a glance. A post publishes at the time you chose. Until then you can pull it back with one click.

You get
Direct posting to your connected accounts and a team view that shows who approved what.
Saves
The Friday thread asking who is posting what.
Workflow
Approve a clip, drop it on a day, and check the week on Monday.

Cap. 07 / Review and approvals

nothing goes out until the right person says yes

Every clip and draft has a status: new, in review, approved, scheduled. Teams on the Studio plan can name an approver, leave comments on a moment, and see exactly who changed what and when.

You get
Statuses, comments pinned to a timestamp, and a plain activity log.
Saves
Approvals by screenshot in a chat thread.
Workflow
Editor submits, approver reads, approver schedules.

Sec. 02 / Connections and uptime

it plugs into the tools you already use, and tells you when something fails

Bring recordings in from where they already live and send posts to where they’re read. If an upload or a post doesn’t go through, you see it straight away, with the reason.

connections

Import from Google Drive or Zoom, or upload a file directly. Post straight to LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, Instagram and TikTok from the calendar.

reliability

Renders run in the background, so you can close the tab. A post that fails is held in the queue with the reason shown, and you decide when to try again.

Sec. 03 / A week with Dustjacket

how a team fits these seven into an ordinary week

Monday

record, then drop the file in

The webinar ends at 11. By lunch the moments are ranked and the drafts are waiting. Nobody has watched the recording twice.

  • 01 Highlights
  • 04 Drafts

Tuesday – Wednesday

trim, caption, hand over

The editor tidies three clips by deleting words, picks a caption style from the brand kit and sends them to the approver.

  • 02 Trimming
  • 03 Clips
  • 05 Brand kit

Thursday – Friday

approve, schedule, look ahead

The approver reads, says yes, and drops posts on the calendar. The next two weeks are visible to everyone before the weekend.

Sec. 04 / Your files, your say

what happens to your recordings, said plainly

Your recordings are often unfinished, private or both. These are the rules Dustjacket follows with them.

Rule 01

your original is never changed

Every edit is a set of instructions laid over the original. Delete a word, change your mind, and the source file is exactly as you uploaded it.

Rule 02

files travel and rest encrypted

Uploads are encrypted in transit and while stored. Sign-in works with a password you choose, and every workspace has its own member list.

Rule 03

you choose who can approve and publish

Roles for viewer, editor and approver keep a draft from going out by accident. The activity log records who did what, and when.

Rule 04

delete it and it’s gone

Remove a recording and its clips, transcript and drafts are removed with it. Social connections can be disconnected at any time from Integrations.

Rule 05

you read it before it posts

Drafts and captions are suggestions. Nothing is posted until someone on your team has approved it and picked a date.

Sec. 05 / Your next step

seven features, one browser tab, and you stay in charge.

Pick the plan that matches how many recordings you handle in a month. Every plan is a flat yearly price.
